KCA Korea Consumer Evaluation has announced the results of the Seoul region evaluation for the <2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation 'Cafe/Dessert'>, organized by the Korea Consumer Council and hosted by Korea Consumer Evaluation.
The purpose of this evaluation is to announce consumer evaluation results by industry, according to the standard industrial classification, thereby realizing the eight basic consumer rights guaranteed under Article 4 of the Framework Act on Consumers, such as the right for consumers to have their opinions reflected, receive information, and make choices. By providing objective and useful information, the evaluation aims to enhance the quality of consumer life.
The 2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation 'Cafe/Dessert' is conducted to promote the development of the domestic cafe and dessert industry. Each year, businesses providing excellent food and beverage services are selected and introduced to the public based on the evaluations of actual visiting customers.
During January and February of this year, a preliminary survey was conducted on cafes, dessert shops, and bakeries nationwide, based on the number of reviews on portal sites, among other factors. Candidate businesses that ranked within the top 32.97% of the evaluation were notified, and ultimately, outstanding businesses within the top 0.17% were selected according to the assessment criteria listed below.
Korea Consumer Evaluation selected outstanding businesses in each region based on the actual experiences of consumers who used the respective services. The final evaluation was conducted using six criteria: △product satisfaction △accessibility △facility convenience △staff friendliness △interior/atmosphere satisfaction △overall evaluation. The list of selected businesses is as follows.
A representative from Korea Consumer Evaluation stated, "Recently, the criteria for consumers selecting cafes and desserts have become increasingly sophisticated. Efficient service, menu choices tailored to individual tastes, the atmosphere of the space, and the convenience of ordering and using the services are now key factors influencing consumer decisions." The representative added, "We hope this evaluation will serve as a helpful reference for individuals to choose cafes and desserts that best match their preferences and circumstances, and furthermore, we expect it will contribute to the sustainable growth of the overall cafe and dessert industry."
They also commented, "In line with the public interest purpose of the Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation, we continue to engage in household consumption support activities for low-income families through the Community Chest of Korea. In particular, through the 'Child Sponsorship Program,' we provide regular support for living expenses, education, and medical costs to children and adolescents from low-income and vulnerable groups. We hope these efforts will contribute to creating a more stable environment for growth. We will continue to carry out activities that practice the value of sustainable sharing in the future."
