Forklift Accidents Surge... Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Conducts Special Training for Workplaces

Three Rounds of Training in Cooperation with Yangsan Branch

Focus on Accident Analysis and Prevention of Recurrence

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's Gyeongnam East Branch (headed by Sim Yeon-seop) announced that, in response to a recent sharp increase in forklift fatal accidents, it will conduct special safety and health training for local forklift-owning workplaces together with the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

This training has been organized to raise the level of safety and health management at workplaces and to prevent industrial accidents. The program will focus on analyzing the causes of forklift accident cases, developing measures to prevent recurrence, and establishing comprehensive safety and health management systems.

The agency began the first session of the training on April 16 and plans to hold additional sessions on April 21 and April 28.

Sim Yeon-seop, head of the branch, emphasized, "While forklifts are widely used equipment in industrial sites, they are a high-risk factor due to the significant danger of fatal accidents. Building a systematic safety and health management system is of utmost importance to create a safe work environment."

He added, "The agency will continue to expand on-site education support as well as financial support for improving hazardous machinery."

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's Gyeongnam East Branch has recently been conducting special safety and health training for workplaces owning forklifts in the region, in collaboration with the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, due to a sharp increase in forklift-related fatalities.
