Finding Career Paths from Day One... Silla University Offers Career Enhancement Special Lecture for Freshmen

Silla University has launched a project to support students in planning their career paths from the moment they enter as freshmen.

The Silla University Career Development Center announced on April 16 that it held the "2026 Learning-Linked Career Enhancement Special Lecture" to help freshmen understand themselves and proactively design their career paths.

This special lecture was held on April 14 for first-year students in the Department of Hotel and Tourism. It focused on helping students explore their personal strengths using the CST Strengths Assessment, enabling them to design both their university life and career based on these insights.

The program, themed "Discovering Myself as a Brand," aimed to encourage students to recognize their strengths as resources for growth and happiness through a paradigm shift, while also guiding them to compensate for weaknesses and create more realistic career plans.

Participating students specifically explored how to apply their strengths to career choices and interpersonal relationships, and took time to establish strength-based career development strategies. They also engaged in small group activities organized by similar strength types, where they shared their strengths, exchanged feedback, and had opportunities to re-recognize themselves from others' perspectives.

Kim Yukyung, head of the Silla University Career Development Center, said, "We hope this will be an opportunity for freshmen to design their university life and long-term career direction based on their strengths," adding, "We will continue to expand customized career development programs tailored to each stage of student growth."

The Silla University Career Development Center also supports students in exploring career paths and strengthening their employability through career counseling and extracurricular programs.
