Yang Jaeseng, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visited a leading local alcoholic beverage company to listen to management difficulties.
On the morning of April 16, Chairman Yang visited the Daesunjoo Gijang Plant, toured the production site, and held an on-site meeting. This visit was arranged to assess the challenges faced by local companies and seek countermeasures at a time when concerns are mounting over global supply chain instability and disruptions in raw material procurement due to the prolonged Middle East crisis.
The meeting was also attended by the Corporate Policy Cooperation Officer and the Corporate Ombudsman from Busan City.
The Daesunjoo side conveyed various requests aimed at strengthening corporate competitiveness, including support for AI-based process optimization to enable digital transformation and improve productivity in manufacturing, as well as support for improving the working environment. They also emphasized the need for institutional and policy support to maintain the market competitiveness of leading local products.
President Cho Woo-hyun stated, "As consumption weakens and management uncertainties persist, the burden on the local alcoholic beverage industry is increasing. We hope that support for promoting the consumption of local products and securing stable sales channels will be strengthened."
In response, Chairman Yang Jaeseng said, "With consumer sentiment weakening due to external factors such as Middle East risks, the difficulties felt by businesses are growing. As expanding sales channels for local products is directly linked to revitalizing the regional economy, we will work with relevant organizations to devise practical support measures."
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is operating field visit teams consisting of two staff members each to listen to difficulties faced by companies expected to be affected by the Middle East crisis, and the collected opinions will be actively reflected in policy recommendations.
Yang Jaesaeng, chairman, and other officials from the Busan Chamber of Commerce are inspecting the Daesun Brewery site and taking a commemorative photo.
