Hezbollah, a pro-Iranian armed faction in Lebanon, has stated that it is in principle willing to agree to a ceasefire with Israel. However, it warned that if Israel violates the terms of the agreement and launches airstrikes, as it did during the 2024 ceasefire, the ceasefire could be broken.

On April 15 (local time), Mahmoud Qomati, Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, said in an interview with Lebanese media outlet Al Jadeed TV, "We are in principle willing to agree to a ceasefire with Israel, but we cannot accept a return to the ceasefire terms of 2024." He added, "At that time, only Hezbollah fulfilled its promises, while Israel either avoided or violated its obligations."

This statement appears to be a response to reports that the Israeli cabinet is considering a temporary ceasefire with Hezbollah at the request of the United States. Observers within and outside Israel anticipate that Israel and Hezbollah may enter a one-week temporary ceasefire ahead of the second round of talks between the United States and Iran.

However, there are reports of concerns within Hezbollah about the possibility of Israel violating the terms of any ceasefire agreement. Previously, in November 2024, a ceasefire was reached between the two sides, but as Israeli airstrikes continued, ceasefire negotiations broke down once again.
