The music video for "Ice Cream" by the group BLACKPINK has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube.
According to YG Entertainment on April 16, the music video exceeded 1 billion views at approximately 4:12 p.m. the previous day. It is BLACKPINK's tenth video to reach this milestone, marking the highest number among K-pop artists.
"Ice Cream" is a pop song with a lively sound. American pop singer Selena Gomez participated in the track, which features a cute concept attempted by BLACKPINK. The song reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting the highest rank for a K-pop girl group at the time. It remained on the chart for eight consecutive weeks.
The album featuring this song, "THE ALBUM," peaked at No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 in the United States and the Official Albums Chart in the United Kingdom. It stayed on the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks and on the UK chart for 7 consecutive weeks.
To date, BLACKPINK has released 50 videos that have each surpassed 100 million views. The group's official YouTube channel has over 100 million subscribers, making them the first artists in the world to reach this milestone. Their cumulative view count has surpassed 41.7 billion.
