LS-VINA Secures U.S. 230kV Ultra-High Voltage Cable Certification... Poised to Enter North American Power Grid Market

Secures Qualification for U.S. Power Authority and Infrastructure Projects

Business Structure Upgraded to High Value-Added Products... Achieves Record First-Quarter Results for Four Consecutive Years

LS Eco Energy's Vietnamese manufacturing subsidiary, LS-VINA, has secured ultra-high voltage cable certification to participate in U.S. power grid projects, laying the groundwork for entry into the North American market.

LS Eco Energy announced on the 16th that LS-VINA has obtained quality certification for 230kV ultra-high voltage cables from KEMA, a globally accredited testing institution.

KEMA, a world-renowned authority based in the Netherlands, granted the certification after LS-VINA met the CS9 standard required for U.S. power grid projects. With this certification, LS-VINA is now qualified to supply cables for large-scale power infrastructure projects in the United States.

According to industry sources, the North American market-centered on the United States-is expected to grow to approximately $7.9 billion (about KRW 12 trillion) by 2027, fueled by expanding investments in transmission infrastructure. These investments are driven by the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and increasing demand for the replacement of aging power grids.

In particular, as there are only a limited number of local manufacturers capable of reliably producing and supplying ultra-high voltage cables, the market is forming around global suppliers that have secured certification.

LS-VINA has strengthened its competitiveness in the ultra-high voltage cable sector based on its experience in the European and Asian markets, and is expanding its business as a global production hub capable of serving the North American region.

LS Eco Energy has shifted its business structure toward high value-added products such as ultra-high voltage cables, achieving an operating margin of about 7%, which exceeds the domestic cable industry average of 3-4%. The company continued its growth momentum by achieving record-high results in the first quarter of 2026.

Lee Sangho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, stated, "This certification will serve as a catalyst for LS Eco Energy to become a global hub capable of addressing the North American market," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our market strategies in line with the expansion of global power grid investments."
