[Today’s New Product] Calling All Choux Cream Fans... Orion Launches "Chambungeoppang Milk Choux Cream Flavor"

Bungeoppang Reimagined as a Mass-Produced Snack

Launched in 2011, Global Sales Surpass 40 Billion Won

Orion announced on April 16 that it has launched a new product, "Chambungeoppang Milk Choux Cream Flavor."

An Orion representative explained, "'Chambungeoppang Milk Choux Cream Flavor' was designed so that not only 'Patbungpa' (red bean bungeoppang fans) who have enjoyed the original Chambungeoppang, but also 'Shubungpa' (choux cream bungeoppang fans) can now enjoy the taste of choux cream bungeoppang anytime and anywhere." This new product adds a milk flavor to choux cream, completing the rich taste of milk choux cream.

Additionally, the product differentiates itself by fortifying calcium, an essential nutrient for growing children and one often lacking in modern diets. Each piece (29g) contains 180mg of calcium, equivalent to a glass of milk, making it a tasty and convenient way to supplement calcium intake as a snack.

First launched in 2011, Chambungeoppang transformed bungeoppang-a classic winter street snack-into a mass-produced treat that can be enjoyed year-round. With the original Chambungeoppang, Hotteok-filled Chambungeoppang, and the newly introduced Milk Choux Cream Flavor, Orion now offers a lineup of three products, giving consumers a wider range of choices.

This product has gained popularity overseas via social media, establishing itself as a "must-buy souvenir" for visitors to Korea. Riding on this popularity, Orion plans to release the "Chambungeoppang Korea Edition"-featuring the fish-shaped pastry dressed in traditional Korean costumes such as Seonbi, Gaksi, and Doryeong-in major tourist districts in Seoul.

Moreover, in overseas markets such as China, Vietnam, and Russia, Orion continues to produce and sell the product under localized brand names like "Xiaoyunuonuo," "Bongbang," and "Bungo." As of last year, global sales surpassed 40 billion won.
