U.S. President Donald Trump posted a video on his social media (SNS) account on the 15th (local time), showing a warning broadcast by the United States Central Command threatening military action if Iran does not cooperate with a maritime blockade.
The 26-second warning broadcast, released by the United States Central Command that day, advises ships traveling to and from Iranian ports to turn back or cease navigation. The broadcast states, "The United States has declared an official blockade of Iranian coastal ports, and this is a lawful act. Do not attempt to break the blockade. If you fail to comply, we will use force. The U.S. Navy is prepared to enforce this blockade," delivering a clear warning.
According to Fox News, the warning broadcast comes from a naval vessel deployed for the blockade mission.
On the same day, President Trump uploaded the warning broadcast video to Truth Social without any additional explanation. As speculation grows that a second ceasefire negotiation with Iran could resume as early as the 16th, this move is interpreted as an attempt to pressure Iran with the maritime blockade card.
In a phone interview with the UK's Sky News on the same day, President Trump was asked about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran by the end of this month, to which he responded, "It's very possible. They have been hit quite hard."
