Middle School Student Pushes Teacher, Causing Concussion... Turns Out to Be Former "My Golden Kids" Participant

It has been confirmed that the middle school student who pushed a teacher and caused a concussion injury had previously appeared on a television program dealing with problematic behaviors in children.

According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on April 15, the incident occurred on March 27 at a middle school in Gwangju. During a guidance session, homeroom teacher A was trying to restrain student B, who was swinging an object, when A was pushed and fell. In the process, A struck their head on the corner of a desk, lost consciousness, and reportedly exhibited convulsions until emergency medical services arrived.

A was transferred to a hospital, diagnosed with a concussion, and received inpatient treatment. It is reported that even after being discharged, A continues to take sick leave due to lingering symptoms such as dizziness and headaches.

According to teachers who were present at the scene, immediately after the incident, student B made a mocking remark toward the collapsed teacher, saying, "You're overreacting." It is also reported that other teachers who witnessed the scene suffered psychological shock.

It has been confirmed that student B had repeatedly exhibited problematic behaviors since elementary school and had appeared on the television program "My Golden Kids," which addresses children's behavioral issues.

The middle school has suspended student B's attendance until the local Teacher Rights Protection Committee is convened. The Office of Education plans to hold the committee meeting within this month to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
