On this day, candidate Jeong paid tribute by offering flowers at the Jeam-ri Memorial for 23 Patriots and then attended the unveiling ceremony and memorial event for the Gojuri Memorial to Six Patriots, as well as a special exhibition held at the lawn of the Hwaseong Independence Movement Memorial Hall, honoring the independence spirit of the fallen patriots.

The memorial ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including bereaved families of the fallen patriots, Yoon Sungjin, Acting Mayor of Hwaseong Special City (First Vice Mayor), Bae Jeongsoo, Chairperson of the Hwaseong Special City Council, provincial assemblymen Lee Honggeun and Lee Jinhyung, city council members Song Sunyoung, Lee Gyecheol, and Choi Eunhee, members of veterans' organizations, and citizens.

The memorial ceremony is held annually to honor the 29 fallen patriots who were victims of Japanese atrocities on April 15, 1919. At that time, as retaliation for the March 1st Movement, the Japanese gathered Jeam-ri residents at Jeam Church, opened fire on them, and set fire to the church and the village. They then moved to nearby Gojuri and killed independence activist Kim Heungyeol and his family.

Candidate Jeong Myunggeun stated, "The noble sacrifices of the fallen patriots are the roots that have led to today's Republic of Korea, and we have the responsibility to remember and uphold their spirit." He pledged, "Jeam-ri and Gojuri are spiritual symbols in the history of Korea's independence movement. We will honor the will of the independence activists and strive to build a city that upholds the values of peace, human rights, and community."
