This policy field tour was organized to increase the completeness of the projects and to practice field-oriented administration so that citizens can experience tangible changes in their daily lives.

First, Namyangju Mayor Gwangdeok Joo visited the planned site for the Dongbu Welfare Center for the Disabled in Wolsan-ri, Hwado-eup, where he was briefed on the current status of the design competition and the future project schedule.

This facility will serve as a regional hub for welfare services, with a total project cost of 30 billion won and a total floor area of approximately 5,970 square meters, spanning two basement levels and four above-ground floors. Inside, there will be a rehabilitation treatment room, a daytime use facility, a lifelong education room, a specialized daycare center for children with disabilities, a fitness room, and a shared kitchen, forming an integrated welfare service system that organically links rehabilitation, care, and education functions.

The city expects that the establishment of this welfare center will improve the quality of life for users and, by consolidating dispersed services in one location, enhance user convenience while also reducing the burden on caregivers.

Mayor Joo stated, "The Dongbu Welfare Center for the Disabled is a long-awaited project for local residents and will play a central role as a key facility in the welfare infrastructure of the eastern region," adding, "We will not only focus on the development of the facility but also carefully oversee the operation of its programs to create a safer and more convenient welfare environment."

Mayor Joo then visited Cheonmasan City Park to directly inspect the planned sites for the trail and ecological wetland, as well as the management office area.

The Cheonmasan landmark project aims to renovate outdated facilities and expand nature-friendly spaces, transforming the park into a place where all citizens can comfortably visit and stay. The project will be implemented in phases until the end of this year.

The city is systematically improving the park environment by repairing the trail surfaces, installing safety railings and decks to enhance pedestrian safety, and simultaneously developing an ecological wetland and upgrading old facilities.

In addition, at the summit viewing point, the city plans to install a safety deck and reorganize the management office space to create a complex area that combines exhibition, education, and relaxation functions. Along with this, the city will introduce nature interpretation programs and experiential content to strengthen the park's role as a destination for longer visits.

Mayor Joo said, "Cheonmasan is one of Namyangju's most valuable natural assets, so it is essential to restructure it as a space where citizens can enjoy nature in their daily lives without causing any damage. We will create an urban landmark that people will want to revisit by providing both walkable environments and engaging attractions."
