Jindo County Wins Excellence Award in On-Site Administration Evaluation of Eup, Myeon, and Dong

Jindo County in South Jeolla Province received the Excellence Award in the on-site administration evaluation conducted by Jeollanam-do. The county announced that it was recognized with the Excellence Award in the "2025 On-Site Administration Excellence Evaluation of Eup, Myeon, and Dong" organized by Jeollanam-do.

This evaluation assessed 297 Eup, Myeon, and Dong units within the province, comprehensively reviewing their efforts to address administrative blind spots and the outcomes of field-oriented administration across various sectors, including cultural heritage, tourism facilities, welfare, and living environment.

Jindo County was awarded the Excellence Award for ranking among the top six out of all 297 Eup, Myeon, and Dong units, thanks to Gogun-myeon's "Creating a Clean Gogun Blooming All Four Seasons" project, which received high marks.

Gogun-myeon established a collaborative system with local organizations such as the Residents' Association, Village Leaders’ Association, Youth Association, Women’s Association, and Seniors’ Association, focusing on the intensive management of 41 major tourist attractions-including the Mysterious Sea Route and Gagye Beach-and promoting flower garden creation projects.

These efforts have led to improvements in both the tourism environment and the living environment, and are considered to have contributed to Jindo County’s strong performance in various policy evaluations.

County Governor Kim Heesu stated, "This award is thanks to the active efforts of our staff in the field and the cooperation of residents," and added, "We will continue to pursue on-site administration that our citizens can truly experience."

Meanwhile, Jindo County plans to continuously strengthen the region’s competitiveness through policies that combine resident-participatory administration with tourism environment improvement.
