Pearl Abyss's new title "Red Desert" has achieved global cumulative sales of 5 million units in less than a month since its release.
The "Red Desert" development team announced on the official social media channel on April 15, "Red Desert has sold over 5 million copies worldwide. We would like to sincerely thank all Greymanes for exploring Pywell, creating your own stories, and supporting our game."
Released on March 20, "Red Desert" is achieving the fastest sales pace in the history of Korean console games. On the day of release, 2 million units were sold, surpassing 3 million units on the fourth day. The game crossed 4 million units on the first day of this month, and set a new record by reaching 5 million units on the 26th day since launch.
"Red Desert" has become a box office success in both domestic and international markets, thanks to its rich content and technical polish. It is also gaining popularity on global video platforms through user-generated content (UGC) and streaming. In particular, as the game has received positive reviews in North America and Europe, a significant portion of sales is reported to come from overseas markets.
Pearl Abyss is incorporating user feedback to add new content and enhance convenience features. Updates will be rolled out sequentially through June.
