The Blue House stated on the 15th that President Lee Jaemyung's demand for an apology from the People Power Party over the 'gangster connection allegations' is justified, saying, "They must issue an apology and take the corresponding responsibility."
Jeon Eunsoo, spokesperson for the Blue House, expressed this position during an afternoon briefing at Chunuchuan in response to related questions. Jeon pointed out, "Elections are the flower of democracy, and voters' correct choices must begin with accurate information," adding, "The malicious falsehoods spread by the People Power Party were a direct attempt to distort the electoral system, which is the foundation of democracy."

Previously, President Lee posted on X (formerly Twitter), demanding an apology from the People Power Party with the message, "Will the People Power Party not apologize for fabricating and spreading the gangster allegations?" President Lee remarked, "Even children apologize when their wrongdoing is exposed," and emphasized, "Now that the People Power Party, a major political party, has had its significant wrongdoing revealed in broad daylight, it must apologize."
President Lee also stated, "A member of the People Power Party, Ms. Jang, claimed I was connected to gangsters, and the party, at the organizational level, repeatedly spread these allegations, ultimately winning the presidential election," and added, "Now that Ms. Jang's conviction has confirmed the gangster rumors were lies, shouldn't there be at least an expression of regret?"
President Lee further criticized, "Although it is already a matter of the past, if it had not been for the gangster allegations or the fabricated Daejang-dong corruption case, the result of the presidential election would have been completely different," noting, "The margin was 0.73%-not even one out of every 100 voters."
