Yongseo Village in Hwaho-ri, Shintaein-eup, Jeongeup City has been finally selected for the '2026 Jeonbuk-Style Village Literature Project' public contest, hosted by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Culture and Tourism Foundation. Through this, the village's precious history and the vivid memories of its residents will be brought to life as literary works.
The 'Jeonbuk-Style Village Literature Project' aims to document and record the cultural resources of villages experiencing population decline, and creatively transform them into literary works and cultural content. Through this process, the project seeks to shed new light on the value of village culture.
With this selection, Yongseo Village will carry out a variety of programs, including the recording and documentation of residents' oral histories, the publication of a literary anthology, and the operation of cultural and artistic programs.

Furthermore, the village is highly regarded for its rich oral records-including the origin of the place name 'Sukguji'-which are considered to have great archival value.
An official from Jeongeup City stated, "We will permanently preserve the cherished memories held by the village through documentation, and expand them as a unique and differentiated cultural resource for Jeongeup."
Meanwhile, the project will not provide subsidies directly to the village, but instead will support the operation of programs and the creation of materials through a professional management organization.
