According to Joongki Oh's campaign on April 15, Speaker Woonsik Woo, who has built a strong bond of trust with Oh as a long-time 'political ally,' has accepted the position of fundraising committee chair to support Oh's victory. This decision is seen as more than simple support; it demonstrates a firm resolve to work in step with the Lee Jaemyung administration to tackle longstanding regional challenges and achieve a "Great Transformation of Gyeongbuk."

Speaker Woonsik Woo is regarded as a leading figure in defending the values of democracy and overcoming the crisis of insurrection in North Gyeongsang Province, which is often referred to as a bastion of conservatism. His decision to serve as Oh's fundraising committee chair is expected to not only consolidate support among the Democratic Party's base in the region but also help broaden its appeal to centrist voters.

A local political figure commented, "It is unusual for the Speaker of the National Assembly, the head of the legislature, to act as the fundraising committee chair for a particular candidate.
