Gwangju University announced on April 15 that Minyoung Park, a graduate of the Department of Aviation Service, has been officially hired as a cabin crew member at Jin Air.
During her time at the university, alumna Minyoung Park diligently participated in both major courses and various extracurricular programs, steadily building her expertise and practical skills in the field of aviation service. In particular, she actively took part in major-related practical training, interview preparation programs, image-making education, and service communication training offered by the department, thereby systematically developing the fundamental qualities and on-site response capabilities required of cabin crew members.
Additionally, she participated in a wide range of domestic and international programs, such as two overseas airline visits, the Global Challenge, and volunteer work in Fiji. These experiences fostered her global perspective, cultural understanding, sense of community, and spirit of challenge. Such experiences served as a solid foundation for enhancing the communication skills, service mindset, and adaptability required in the aviation service industry.
Graduate Minyoung Park shared her thoughts, stating, "Thanks to the specialized knowledge, hands-on practice, and the meticulous guidance from my professors in the Department of Aviation Service, I was able to achieve my goal of becoming a cabin crew member at Jin Air."
This employment achievement is particularly meaningful, as it is the result of the Department of Aviation Service at Gwangju University systematically enhancing students' employability through practical, field-oriented education and personalized career guidance.
Department head Hyunjoo Lee remarked, "We comprehensively support students by developing their service competencies, foreign language skills, emergency response abilities, and providing education on image and attitude, all of which are required in the aviation industry. We are committed to strengthening career planning and employability for our students." Lee added, "We will continue to expand field-oriented education and employment support programs to ensure that students can grow into diverse careers, including cabin crew, airport ground staff, and roles in tourism and service industries."
