Shin & Kim Recruits Capital Market Experts Choong-Yeon Lee and Dong-Cheol Lee as Advisors

SHIN & KIM Strengthens Expertise in Capital Markets with New Advisor Appointments

Law firm SHIN & KIM has recruited Choong-Yeon Lee, former Deputy Head of the KOSDAQ Market Division at Korea Exchange, and Dong-Cheol Lee, former Vice Chairman of KB Financial Group, as advisors.

According to SHIN & KIM on April 15, Advisor Choong-Yeon Lee has accumulated nearly 30 years of expertise in the Korean financial industry since joining the Korea Securities Dealers Association (now the Korea Financial Investment Association) in 1995.

Lee was responsible for IPO reviews from the early stages of the preliminary listing examination system. He later oversaw substantive listing eligibility reviews and handled numerous market soundness tasks related to maintaining or delisting companies from the exchange. In 2024, serving as Deputy Head of the KOSDAQ Market Division, he played a pivotal role in establishing order in the capital market by overseeing all aspects of market operations, including listings, disclosures, and post-listing management.

Advisor Dong-Cheol Lee, who served as Vice Chairman of KB Financial Group, held key positions such as Head of KB Kookmin Bank’s New York branch, Head of Strategic Planning, and Secretary General of the Holding Company Establishment Task Force. He also served as Executive Vice President of Management Planning at KB Life Insurance, Executive Vice President of Strategy at KB Financial Group, and CEO of KB Kookmin Card, accumulating extensive experience in management and strategy across the financial sector.

In particular, during his tenure at KB Financial Group, he spearheaded major M&As, including the merger of Kookmin Bank and Housing & Commercial Bank, the acquisition of Indonesia’s BII Bank, and the acquisition of Hyundai Securities. He also played a central role in advancing the group’s core growth strategies in insurance, IT, digital, and global businesses.
