Yeongdeungpo District in Seoul announced on April 15 that it will promote the supply of a total of 60,623 housing units through redevelopment and reconstruction projects within the district. This figure is as of March 31, 2026.
The supply will be evenly distributed throughout the entire district. By region, Singil and Yeongdeungpo-bondong will see 27,233 units, Yangpyeong, Dangsan, Mullae, and Yeongdeungpo-dong will have 13,437 units, Yeouidong will have 11,515 units, and Dorim and Daerim-dong will have 8,438 units.
The largest portion, Singil and Yeongdeungpo-bondong, is centered around Singil New Town. Singil District 13, near Sinpung Station on Subway Line 7, is the fastest among the public reconstruction leading project candidates to receive approval for its implementation plan and will be transformed into a development of up to 35 stories and 586 units. The area near Yeongdeungpo Station was recently designated as an urban public housing complex zone, and a landmark complex with up to 48 stories and 3,366 units is planned for the site.
In the Yangpyeong, Dangsan, Mullae, and Yeongdeungpo-dong region, the '2030 Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Master Plan' has raised the maximum floor area ratio to 400%, significantly improving the project's profitability. In Yeouidong, the relaxation of height restrictions along the Han River and amendments to Seoul's urban planning ordinance have sped up reconstruction efforts. Gwangjang 28 and Sambu Apartments are planned to be redeveloped into large complexes with 1,314 and 1,735 units, respectively. The easing of mandatory commercial ratios will expand the residential ratio to up to 90% in general commercial areas and up to 100% in quasi-residential areas.
The district is operating two redevelopment and reconstruction consultation centers to support resident consultations and conflict mediation.
An official from Yeongdeungpo District stated, "The plan to supply 60,000 units is an important turning point for Yeongdeungpo to reestablish itself as a core residential area in Seoul," adding, "Along with redevelopment and reconstruction, we will continue to provide administrative support to create a pleasant residential environment where green spaces and living infrastructure are harmoniously balanced."
