The ambassadorial delegation from 30 countries stationed at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) visited the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center to learn about the company's future vision and advanced technological capabilities.

원본보기 아이콘On April 15, HD Hyundai announced that ambassadors from 30 NATO member countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada, had visited the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.
The ambassadors stationed at NATO visited to explore ways to strengthen cooperation between NATO and South Korea and to directly assess HD Hyundai’s competitiveness in the shipbuilding sector. These ambassadors are the highest-ranking diplomats dispatched by each member country to NATO Headquarters and represent their countries in all political and military decision-making processes of the alliance.
The delegation was briefed on various vessels developed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, including destroyers, frigates, submarines, and unmanned surface vessels, as well as the current status of future-oriented ships equipped with autonomous navigation technology powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
They also visited Cheongun Hall, a historical exhibition space dedicated to HD Hyundai and its founder, the late Honorary Chairman Chung Ju-yung of Hyundai Group, where they watched a video outlining the company’s future vision.
The delegation then toured the Digital Convergence Center, where they were able to directly observe HD Hyundai’s technological capabilities, including AI-based naval solutions, hybrid electric propulsion ships, and digital twin virtual trial runs.
Park Yongyeol, Head of Naval & Special Ship Business Unit at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, stated, "It is very meaningful to be able to showcase our technologies and capabilities directly to the ambassadors of NATO, the world’s most powerful military alliance. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will continue to accelerate efforts to expand cooperation in advanced maritime defense with countries around the world."
On March 31, about 30 foreign military attach?s from 25 countries stationed in South Korea visited HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' headquarters in Ulsan to tour the shipyard and observe the shipbuilding and naval vessel construction sites.
