Banners celebrating the baby's arrival have been hung throughout the village, and residents are sharing in the joy as if it were their own, warmly welcoming the newborn.
To celebrate this special occasion, local organizations, including the Bukpyeong-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, are also joining in. In particular, members of the Jeongseon-gun Swimming Federation (headed by President Youngsik An), where the baby's father Hyun-dong Kim is active, have attracted attention with their heartfelt support. The members remarked, "It's been so long since we've celebrated a Baekiljanchi (a traditional Korean 100-day celebration for babies) in our village, we can barely remember the last time," and decided to prepare a 'Baekil ring' themselves as a wish for the baby's healthy growth.
Cheolsoo Kim, the village chief of Mungok-ri, stated, "This is a major event for our village, the first in 20 years," adding, "Together with the women’s association, we plan to prepare a Baekiljanchi to wish for the baby's healthy development."
Hyun-dong Kim (age 39), the baby’s father who moved to Mungok-ri, Jeongseon-gun in 2022, shared, "I draw great strength from the fact that so many people are celebrating and sharing this joy with us," and commented, "As the current head of our village, I will continue to do my best to serve our community going forward."
