BNK Busan Bank has presented a mid- to long-term strategy to strengthen its competitiveness in marine finance.
BNK Busan Bank (President Kim Sungjoo) announced on the 15th that the research results of the "Marine Finance Future Strategy Think-Lab" were presented at the BNK Executive Forum held on the 14th.
This Think-Lab was operated over the past five months to respond to the rapidly changing marine industry environment, including the relocation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan, expanded discussions on Arctic shipping routes, and the restructuring of global supply chains. External experts and advisors in the fields of marine, finance, and economics, as well as internal personnel, participated in the research.

The research team organized marine finance strategic tasks focused on four key areas: the Arctic route, shipping and ports, shipbuilding and MRO, and internal capacity enhancement.
Busan Bank has continued to provide financial support to the shipping and shipbuilding industries through instruments such as refund guarantees (RG) and agreement-based loans. The bank has also expanded its policy finance functions by operating a Productive Finance Council and launching the Innovative Growth Finance Division.
In the second half of this year, the bank plans to further specify its marine finance specialization strategy by promoting the establishment of the "BNK Marine Integrated Finance Center."
Kim Yongkyu, Head of Management Planning Group, said, "Through this Think-Lab, we have further specified our marine finance strategy," and added, "We will continue to enhance our marine finance competitiveness through cooperation with external experts and strengthening organizational capabilities."
