Michelle Wie West to Compete in LPGA Tour Event in May

Michelle Wie West (USA) will compete in a U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour event in May.

On April 15 (local time), U.S. golf media outlet Golfweek reported, "Wie West will participate as a sponsor invitee at the LPGA Tour Mizuho Americas Open (total prize money: $3.25 million) in May."

The tournament was established in 2023, with Wie West serving as the host. The Mizuho Americas Open will take place over four days starting May 7 at Mountain Ridge Country Club (par 71, 6,612 yards) in West Caldwell, New Jersey, USA.

Wie West, a Korean-American golfer, has five career LPGA Tour victories. She claimed the major title at the 2014 U.S. Women's Open. In 2019, she married Jonnie West, son of NBA legend Jerry West. She effectively retired after the 2023 U.S. Women's Open.

Wie West also plans to compete in the U.S. Women's Open in June. For the 2026-2027 season, she is scheduled to join the virtual reality golf league WTGL.
