Bond and CD Electronic Registration Issuance Reaches 146.8 Trillion Won in Q1, Up 0.6% Year-on-Year

In the first quarter of this year, the total amount of funds raised by companies and other entities through the Korea Securities Depository's bond and negotiable certificate of deposit (CD) electronic registration system reached 146.8 trillion won, an increase of 0.6% compared to the same period last year.

The amount of registered bond issuance was approximately 137.1 trillion won, up 5.8% year-on-year, while the registered CD issuance was about 9.7 trillion won, a decrease of 40.5% compared to the previous year.


By type, the amounts raised through registered issuance were as follows: National Housing Bonds at 3.6 trillion won, Local Government Bonds at 1.6 trillion won, Corporate Bonds-including bonds from financial companies and special purpose companies (SPC)-at 67.8 trillion won, Special Bonds at 61 trillion won, Local Public Corporation Bonds at 3.1 trillion won, and CDs at 9.7 trillion won.


The proportions by type of registered issuance were as follows: Special Bonds (41.6%), Financial Company Bonds (26.2%), General Corporate Bonds (15.3%), CDs (6.6%), SPC Bonds (4.7%), National Housing Bonds (2.4%), Local Public Corporation Bonds (2.1%), and Local Government Bonds (1.1%).
