The group BTS has continued its winning streak for three consecutive weeks on the main Billboard album and singles charts in the United States with its fifth studio album, "ARIRANG."
According to the latest charts (dated April 18) released by the U.S. music media outlet Billboard on April 14 (local time), "ARIRANG" topped the main album chart, the "Billboard 200," for the third week in a row. BTS is the first K-pop artist to achieve three consecutive weeks at number one on this chart, and the first group to do so since 2012.
On the main singles chart, the "Hot 100," the title track "SWIM" ranked fifth, maintaining its position in the "Top 5" for three consecutive weeks. Other tracks from the album-"Body to Body" (No. 52), "2.0" (No. 67), "Hooligan" (No. 72), "NORMAL" (No. 82), and "FYA" (No. 90)-also entered the chart. Out of the 14 tracks on the new album, six have remained on the charts for three consecutive weeks.
"SWIM" also held the top spot for three weeks running on both the "Global 200" and "Global Excl. U.S." charts. Thirteen tracks from the album secured spots within the top 50 of the "Global 200" and within the top 40 of the "Global Excl. U.S." chart, respectively.
BTS also claimed the number one spot on the "Artist 100," "Digital Song Sales," and "Top Album Sales" charts. On the "Vinyl Albums" chart, the group climbed two positions from the previous week to reclaim the top spot. "Top Streaming Albums" ranked fourth, while "Streaming Songs" placed ninth.
This new album is BTS's first release in three years and nine months. RM participated in writing most of the lyrics. "SWIM" conveys a determination to move forward despite adversity.
Additionally, "Golden," the original soundtrack (OST) for the Netflix animated series "K-Pop Demon Hunters," ranked seventh on the "Hot 100," marking its 42nd consecutive week on the chart. The OST album ranked 13th on the "Billboard 200."
The remix version of "Dracula" by Tame Impala, featuring Jennie from BLACKPINK, ranked 17th on the "Hot 100." In addition, MONSTA X's "Unfold" ranked 41st on the "Billboard 200," while Katzeye's "Beautiful Chaos" and "SIS" ranked 108th and 168th, respectively.
