Daejeon Holds Naming Contest for Kkumsuni's Parents and Cat Character

The Daejeon Tourism Organization is holding a naming contest for three new characters to strengthen marketing for Daejeon's representative mascot, Kkumdori, and the Kkumssi Family. The contest seeks names for: ▲Kkumsuni's mother ▲Kkumsuni's father ▲a cute cat friend.

Participants can submit name suggestions that best match the silhouettes and characteristics of the released characters until April 20, 2026.

Anyone can participate. To enter, check the official event post on either the Daejeon City or Daejeon Tourism Organization channel, then submit your suggested name and its meaning via the Naver form linked in the profile.

The winners will be announced on April 27, 2026. Three winners will be selected for each character, and each will receive a gift certificate worth 100,000 won. Additionally, 30 participants will be randomly chosen to receive a prize worth 10,000 won each. The selected names will be actively used in future marketing and promotional content.

An official from the organization stated, "It is meaningful that the names for Kkumsuni's parents and the cat character will be created directly by citizens. We hope many people participate so that the new Kkumssi Family characters become beloved mascots nationwide."
