The "Weave On Jungchon" project, which combines AI transformation (AX)-based creative experiences with the customized fashion-specialized street area in Jungchon-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon, has been selected as a government-supported initiative.

"Weave On Jungchon" (organized by Bareuji-eum) was chosen for the "2026 Youth Village Creation" program, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and will receive a total of 600 million won in national funding over the next three years.

The competition drew participation from 141 youth organizations across the country, resulting in intense competition, and ultimately, 10 local governments nationwide, including Jung-gu, Daejeon, were selected.

The "Youth Village Creation" program aims to help young people establish a foundation for settling in the region by staying for a certain period and engaging in job experiments, startups, utilizing local resources, and interacting with residents.

"Weave On Jungchon" focuses on building a creative community that merges fashion, art, and content, providing a foundation for young people to stay and be active in the region, and fostering a sustainable local cultural ecosystem.

The city has provided close support to youth organizations throughout the entire process, including consulting services from private experts, joint on-site inspections, and evaluation presentations. The convincing presentation of the region's growth potential, based on public-private cooperation, is seen as a key factor in the project's selection.

The city expects this project to offer new opportunities for young people and revitalize the old downtown area. Moving forward, administrative support will be continuously provided to ensure the stable implementation of the project.

Min Donghee, Director of Educational Policy and Strategy at Daejeon City, stated, "This achievement is the result of the creative challenges taken on by young people and the support from the city and local districts. As more young people are choosing to come to Daejeon, we will continue to be a strong pillar so that 'Weave On Jungchon' grows into a nationwide settlement model filled with the ideas of young people."
