This year, the city has set the application period from April 20 to May 1. This is more than a month earlier than last year's application period (June 9-27), with the aim of completing the distribution of items within the first half of the year so that women can receive safety support more quickly.

An official from Paju City stated, "Last year, as applications began in June, the distribution of items was delayed to the second half, which reduced the tangible impact for women in urgent need of safety support. This year, by distributing the Women's Safety Package within the first half, we aim to maximize the effectiveness of crime prevention for women."

This project targets a total of 36 households with a vulnerable capacity to respond to crime, including: ▲ single-women households ▲ single-parent families (mother-child or father-child households) with children under the age of 18 ▲ female victims of crime (such as residential intrusion, excessive approach/stalking, dating violence, sexual violence, etc.) ▲ households consisting only of women.

The support items are provided as a ‘Women's Safety Package,’ which includes six items: ▲ a home-use intelligent camera ▲ a door opening detector ▲ a self-defense spray ▲ a window lock ▲ a portable alarm ▲ a waybill eraser. These items are provided free of charge to selected households. However, households that received support from the same project between 2023 and 2025 are excluded, and only one package is provided per household.

Recipients are selected based on priority. The first priority is female victims of crime, the second priority is vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients and low-income households, and the third priority is tenant households. Within the same priority group, support is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications can be submitted online via Gyeonggi Minwon 24. However, in cases where online application is difficult, such as for elderly households, applicants can visit their local administrative welfare center to apply in person. The required documents for all applicants are a copy of the resident registration and the application form. Additionally, single-parent families must submit a certificate of single-parent family status, and female victims of crime must provide evidence of their victimization, as applicable.

Successful applicants will be notified individually via text message in May, and the selected households will receive the items sequentially by courier through the designated supplier. For further details, inquiries can be made to the Women's Policy Team of the Gender Equality and Family Division of Paju City Hall.

An official from Paju City commented, "Since the application period has been moved up, the review and distribution will also proceed quickly so that all eligible recipients can receive the Women's Safety Package within the first half of the year. We hope this will provide practical assistance in creating a safe living environment for women living alone and for female households who are vulnerable to crime."
