According to Hanwha Group on April 15, the Hanwha Youth Orchestra held its first training session on April 14. The more than 60 selected members will experience authentic classical music over the course of about one year through a structured music education program.

Now in its 13th year, the Hanwha Youth Orchestra is a flagship social contribution program jointly operated by Hanwha Group and the Korea Mecenat Association. The program offers full support to elementary, middle, and high school students in Cheonan and Cheongju, areas with relatively low access to classical music, helping to bridge the gap in arts education for underserved communities.

This program is based on the philosophy of "El Sistema," a music education model that originated in Venezuela. Beyond simply acquiring musical performance skills, the program focuses on helping young people build self-esteem and a sense of community, and grow into members of society through instrument lessons and ensemble activities.

President Lee Jaemyung also highlighted the importance of youth music education by mentioning "El Sistema" during a meeting with artists and cultural figures in June of last year.

The Hanwha Youth Orchestra operates with a combination of systematic lessons from professional instructors and orchestra ensemble training, enabling participants to learn the values of cooperation and communication. In fact, there have been steady cases of graduates advancing to music colleges, demonstrating tangible results. The program is recognized for establishing a virtuous cycle that not only serves as a hobby, but also supports youth growth and career development.

A Hanwha Group representative stated, "The Hanwha Youth Orchestra is the program that best represents our management philosophy of 'Growing Together, Going Far.' We will continue to support young people so that they can grow into healthy members of society through music."

In addition, Hanwha Group is expanding opportunities for youth growth through various social contribution activities, including "Making Clean Schools," an eco-friendly after-school program for elementary students; "Pebbles of the Universe," a space science talent development program for middle school students; and the "Hanwha Science Challenge," a science competition for high school students.
