Currently, Gyeonggi Province operates 23 integrated operation schools, the highest number nationwide, and two additional schools are scheduled to open in March 2027.
The council, held at the Southern Office, was organized to discuss solutions through inter-departmental cooperation and to support the challenges faced by integrated operation schools, based on field proposals identified during the school operation process.
The policy support council held on the 13th was chaired by Deputy Superintendent Hong Jeongpyo, with 24 participants from 20 departments, including department heads of the policy support council. At the meeting, current issues and proposals for each agenda item were shared, and practical discussions were held focusing on departmental review comments.
Main agenda items included ▲integration of messenger organizational charts, ▲improvement of work systems, ▲methods for operating integrated accounting, ▲adjustment of staffing placement and quota standards for faculty and staff, and ▲refinement of integrated operation school models at the establishment stage, covering issues across human resources, administration, and finance. In addition, cross-departmental collaboration was discussed for tasks such as supporting the design of integrated curricula for elementary, middle, and high schools, and operating training programs for faculty and staff.
On the 14th, a follow-up working-level council was held with working-level officers from the same 20 departments. At this session, participants further detailed the specific implementation plans and schedules for the issues discussed at the previous policy support council, continuing practical discussions.
After the council, the provincial office plans to update and distribute the 'Integrated Operation School Management and Operation Support Materials,' including case studies on integrated administration and school accounting, as well as Q&A, to integrated operation schools in the province in June.
Deputy Superintendent Hong Jeongpyo of the provincial office said, "For effective support of integrated operation schools, it is essential for all departments to work closely together," adding, "We will continue to promote support for the operation of integrated operation schools by developing practical implementation plans based on the discussions at the council."
