The city recently signed a cooperation agreement on educational collaboration with eight four-year cyber universities.

The newly partnered universities are: Kyung Hee Cyber University, International Cyber University, Global Cyber University, and Korea Open Cyber University.

The previously partnered universities - Sejong Cyber University, Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Soongsil Cyber University, and Seoul Digital University - have renewed their agreements.

Starting from the second semester of this year, Seongnam residents admitted to these universities will receive a 30% reduction in tuition fees each semester, allowing them to pay only 70% of the original cost.

Given that the average tuition for cyber universities is around 80,000 won per credit, and 1.44 million won per semester for 18 credits, students can pursue university studies at a cost of approximately 1 million won per semester.

A Seongnam City official stated, "Currently, there are 55 citizens enrolled in the existing four cyber universities who are receiving tuition discounts. Through this agreement, we expect to further strengthen the foundation for lifelong learning, enabling any citizen to continuously develop their capabilities by utilizing the advantages of cyber universities, which allow for learning without constraints of time and space."
