Hyundai E&C Office in Saudi Arabia Partially Damaged by Iran's Airstrike

It was belatedly revealed that Hyundai Engineering & Construction's local office sustained partial damage due to Iran's airstrike on Saudi Arabia.

According to the construction industry on April 14, the "Amiral Project" site office of Hyundai Engineering & Construction, located in Jubail, an industrial city in eastern Saudi Arabia, suffered some ceiling damage as the building shook during an Iranian airstrike on April 7 (local time).

On that day, Iran launched a retaliatory attack on a large petrochemical complex in the Jubail area, where the project is underway.

The project is a petrochemical plant construction initiative led by state-run oil company Aramco in Jubail, with Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Engineering securing contracts worth 5 billion dollars (7.4 trillion won).

On the anonymous employee community platform "Blind," numerous posts reportedly criticized the company for its inadequate follow-up measures.

A representative from Hyundai Engineering & Construction stated, "The office was not directly hit," adding, "We have identified the intention of employees to return to Korea, and the families of employees are currently returning home in accordance with the emergency response system."
