To this end, the Office will operate 15 research schools and 25 implementation schools, further expanding the foundation for assessment innovation. By developing and refining assessment tools tailored to each school level and subject, and by applying these tools to classes, the office plans to build a Gyeonggi-style AI-based essay assessment model.

Additionally, 350 lead teachers will be trained to strengthen teacher competency. These lead teachers will guide training for 5,000 teachers in general schools and provide customized on-site consulting for a total of 7,500 teachers.

This year, the Office will expand the application of AI-based essay assessments beyond Korean language, social studies, and science (which were included in 2025), to now encompass mathematics and English as well. Through this, students will gain learning experiences that allow them to articulate their thinking processes and problem-solving across all subjects, while teachers will systematically enhance their skills in designing questions and providing rubric-based feedback.

The Office will also operate an AI-based essay assessment research group to encourage voluntary research and practical implementation by teachers. This group, consisting of 350 teachers, aims to go beyond simple policy adoption and strengthen the execution of teacher-led policy initiatives in schools.

At a research group workshop held at the Southern Office on April 11, Im Hyunju, a teacher at Taejang High School, stated, "AI-based essay assessments will act as collaborative teachers by motivating each student individually and enabling tailored feedback."

Seo Eun-kyung, Director of the Digital Talent Bureau at the Office, said, "We will establish a foundation for future university admissions by supporting personalized student growth and enhancing teachers' expertise in AI-based essay assessments," adding, "We will strengthen support to ensure that reliable and valid AI-based essay assessments are established in schools."
