Suwon Nambu Fire Station to Install Residential Fire Safety Equipment in Hearing-Impaired Households by Year-End

The Suwon Nambu Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province, together with Suwon City and the Gyeonggi Association of the Deaf, will provide free installation of residential fire safety equipment in the homes of hearing-impaired families.

The Suwon Nambu Fire Station announced on April 14 that, until the end of this year, staff will visit the homes of hearing-impaired families to install one fire extinguisher and two residential fire alarms per household. The fire alarms being installed are equipped with a visual alert function that emits a strong light to warn of danger in the event of a fire.

Tailored informational materials for the hearing-impaired will also be provided, enabling anyone to easily understand how to use the fire extinguisher, the operating principles of the fire detector, and how to maintain the equipment.

Park Junghoon, Chief of the Suwon Nambu Fire Station, said, "We will continue to implement customized safety measures for vulnerable groups to address safety blind spots," adding, "I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the Suwon City Safety Policy Division and the Suwon branch of the Gyeonggi Association of the Deaf."
