Yeongcheon and Cheongdo Launch First Welfare Initiatives of the Year, Welcoming Spring with Sharing and Healing

Maejeon-myeon in Cheongdo Launches First 'Five Senses Satisfaction' Program
To celebrate the arrival of a new spring in 2026, Yeongcheon City and Cheongdo County in North Gyeongsang Province have launched their first welfare initiatives of the year, reaching out to support marginalized neighbors.
These activities, led by the Community Security Council, are being recognized as exemplary cases of public-private cooperation.
On April 13, the Community Security Council of Gokyeong-myeon, Yeongcheon City, delivered the first new ‘Ddasoom Store’ signboard of the year to Daedong Restaurant (CEO Eunhee Kim), marking the beginning of a culture of sharing.
The ‘Ddasoom Store’ is a community-based welfare project in which local restaurants and markets provide free-use coupons to vulnerable groups.
With the inclusion of Daedong Restaurant, Gokyeong-myeon now has a total of seven sharing hubs, including Gokyeong Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and Seokgye Son Kalguksu.
Gokyeong-myeon Chief Taeyeop Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am thankful to Daedong Restaurant for readily practicing sharing in difficult times, and the administration will also do its best to look after the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.”
On the same day, the Community Security Council of Maejeon-myeon, Cheongdo County, held the year’s first ‘Five Senses Satisfaction Healing Program’ at Cheongnori Healing Farm in Namyang-ri.

원본보기 아이콘This event, designed to prevent emotional isolation among the elderly due to aging, featured nature-friendly experiences such as eco-bag flower dyeing and making barley bread and poke bowls.
This program, funded by the ‘Together for Happiness Safe Fund’ project, received enthusiastic feedback from participating seniors, who said the activities helped them relieve stress and gain new energy.
Maejeon-myeon Chief Yongseop Kim stated, “Starting with this first program, we will continue to expand customized local initiatives so that Maejeon-myeon can become a leading area for healing agriculture based on the sixth industrialization.”
