Korea Student Aid Foundation Announces List of 25 Participating Universities for Blue Ladder and Korea-Japan Student Training Programs

The Ministry of Education (Minister Choi Gyojin) and the Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Park Changdal) announced on April 14 that 25 universities will participate in the 2026 "Blue Ladder and Korea-Japan Student Training" programs. Each participating university will officially begin recruiting students for global training opportunities.

"Blue Ladder" is a flagship government-funded overseas training program organized by the Ministry of Education and operated by the foundation. Since its launch in 2018, it has provided students with opportunities for new challenges. Notably, this year, the number of selected participants has been significantly increased, and a total of 775 students are expected to receive support.

The 17 universities participating in the Blue Ladder program are: Catholic Sangji College, Keimyung College University, Daegu University, Daegu Health College, Dongshin University, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, Dong-Eui University, Baekseok University, Pusan National University, Sahmyook University, Seojeong College, Sun Moon University, Ajou University, Ansan University, Jeonbuk National University, Jeonju University, and Korea University of Media Arts. The "Korea-Japan Student Training" is a mid-term exchange program aimed at revitalizing exchanges between the future generations of Korea and Japan, and strengthening the global competencies of domestic university students. This year, eight universities will participate: Gumi University, Namseoul University, Dongshin University, Dong-Eui University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Sahmyook University, Yeonsung University, and Korea University of Media Arts.

Each participating university is scheduled to recruit students until mid-May. As the selection criteria and procedures differ by university, applicants must check the specific details through their respective institutions.

In particular, the Blue Ladder program selects not only students from participating universities but also students from other universities within the same region. Even if a student's own university is not participating, they may still apply by contacting a selected university in the same region. On the other hand, for the Korea-Japan Student Training program, only students enrolled at the selected universities are eligible to apply, so applicants should take note.

Park Changdal, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, stated, "I believe that the experience of facing and overcoming challenges in unfamiliar environments is true learning that can change the direction of one’s life," adding, "The Korea Student Aid Foundation will be a reliable supporter, ensuring that students can confidently take on challenges on the global stage regardless of their economic circumstances."
