The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on April 14 that it had signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Data and Statistics. This agreement was established to further strengthen the foundation of SME policy by jointly participating in the advancement of economic statistics and researching systematic methods for data utilization.
The two organizations have agreed to mutually cooperate for the advancement of SME economic statistics in the following areas: ▲collaboration to improve economic statistics in support of economic policy; ▲participation in a council to expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data; ▲promotion and cooperation to encourage SME participation in statistical surveys; and ▲collaboration on the mutual utilization of materials necessary for the production, processing, and improvement of statistics.

원본보기 아이콘Oh Kiwoong, Senior Vice President of the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "Through this business agreement, we expect to establish a precise SME statistical system that can respond to the rapidly changing economic environment," adding, "Going forward, we will do our utmost to identify the challenges faced by SMEs and propose customized support policies based on data through continued cooperation between the two organizations."
Ahn Hyungjun, Director of the Ministry of Data and Statistics, said, "Customized data is essential to support the growth of SMEs, which are the backbone of our economy," and added, "Through this agreement, we will advance SME economic data and create a data ecosystem where the public and private sectors can thrive together."
