HanmiGlobal, a company specializing in construction project management (PM), announced on April 14 that its U.S. subsidiary Otec has secured eligibility to bid for a national park maintenance project worth $400 million (approximately 600 billion won) to be commissioned by the National Park Service (NPS) under the U.S. Department of the Interior over the next five years. The $400 million represents the total contract ceiling for the project. Otec will compete for individual work orders alongside eight other global engineering firms, including AECOM and Jacobs, to secure project assignments.
This contract employs the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) method, which is commonly used by the U.S. federal government. Only the project period of five years and the contract ceiling of $400 million are predetermined; separate tenders are issued for each project as needed to qualified companies. Otec's performance period will run from March 2026 to February 2031, during which the nine companies will compete for and share assignments.

Tasks include replacing or upgrading water and sewage treatment facilities, installing new building systems, and refurbishing visitor centers and staff accommodations. Roads, parking lots, and bridges within the parks will also be targeted for maintenance. Otec will be responsible for all aspects of engineering, including construction management, architectural and landscape design, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and geotechnical engineering, environmental assessments, hazardous materials surveys, and cost estimation.
This contract is considered the result of HanmiGlobal’s nearly 15-year-long localization strategy in the U.S. market, which began with its acquisition of Otec in 2011. Otec has maintained a collaborative relationship with the National Park Service for 20 years, leveraging its local workforce and networks in the United States.
Since the launch of the second Trump Administration, HanmiGlobal has continued to secure PM service contracts for major domestic corporations' construction projects, including those related to semiconductors, batteries, shipbuilding, and subsea cable factories. Last year, HanmiGlobal generated approximately 127.7 billion won in the U.S. market, accounting for nearly half of its total overseas sales of 261.3 billion won.
A HanmiGlobal representative stated, "This contract is significant as it further solidifies our long-term partnership with the U.S. federal government. Led by Otec, we will continue to expand our presence in the U.S. public infrastructure market."
