Transaction Growth Among Teenagers Surges by 35%, the Highest Increase

Ablee Corporation, which operates the style commerce platform Ablee, announced on April 14 that the platform achieved its highest-ever transaction volume in the shopping mall category in March. The company even surpassed its previous winter season record, a period typically considered the peak season in the fashion industry due to higher average order values.


Last month, the transaction volume in the shopping mall category increased by approximately 25% compared to the same period last year, while the number of orders rose by about 20%. Transactions from customers in their 20s and 30s accounted for more than 70% of the total transaction volume. Specifically, transaction volume from customers in their 20s grew by about 25%, and those in their 30s increased by 16%, each compared to the previous year. Transaction volume from teenagers saw the highest growth, surging by 35%.

Performance by individual shopping malls during the same period was also notable. The transaction volume for 'Pervit' increased by 245% and for 'Kimahop' by 213%, each more than tripling. 'Hypnotic' also saw its transaction volume more than double, with a 131% increase. 'Benito' (64%), 'Autumn' (53%), and 'Modimood' (20%) also experienced transaction growth. 'Harveunni' recorded a staggering increase, with its transaction volume surging more than 96-fold (9551%) compared to its launch in January this year, successfully acquiring both new and loyal customers in just about three months.


From large-scale markets to small sellers, shopping malls based in Dongdaemun continued to join the platform, further enhancing the product lineup. In the first quarter of this year, major shopping malls such as 'Harveunni', 'More Round', and '10gart' successfully established themselves. This month, popular shopping malls including 'Dailyju' and 'Manique' also joined the platform. The number of new shopping malls joining in March increased by approximately 20% compared to the same period last year, and the number of products rose by around 80%.


Ablee analyzed that its 'AI personalized recommendation technology', which reflects user preferences in real time, was the driving force behind these results. Ablee’s proprietary AI recommendation engine becomes more sophisticated over time, powered by big data that accumulates 150 billion records annually, and captures even subtle changes in user preferences to suggest optimized products.
