This agreement was pursued with the aim of establishing a practical model that links local problem-solving with entrepreneurship education. In particular, it focuses on building a "local-based innovation ecosystem" that applies the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the local community, with young people at its core.
Through the agreement, the two organizations plan to: ▲ jointly implement actions to achieve the 17 Siheung SDGs; ▲ co-develop entrepreneurship education programs based on the SDGs; ▲ promote local, social, and ESG-driven startups; ▲ connect youth participation programs with sustainable development activities; ▲ jointly organize conferences and festivals; ▲ cooperate on region-based projects such as the Siheung Chronicle and local geographical documentation; and ▲ operate practical programs such as capstone design and hackathons.
With this agreement, young people will be able to participate as key actors in solving local issues. It is expected that they will directly identify local agendas within the entrepreneurship education curriculum and create tangible social value by linking them with the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the combination of the Council's local network and the university's entrepreneurship education capabilities is expected to establish a virtuous cycle system of "education-practice-diffusion."
Going forward, the two organizations plan to continuously broaden the intersection between youth entrepreneurship and sustainable development, and to further develop a collaborative model that grows together with the local community.
