Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on April 13 (local time) expressed his full support for U.S. President Donald Trump's maritime blockade measures against Iran.
According to AFP and other sources, Prime Minister Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting on the same day, "President Trump decided on the maritime blockade because Iran violated the rules of the Pakistan peace talks," adding, "We support this firm stance and continue to cooperate with the United States."
He also stated that he was personally briefed on the breakdown of negotiations by U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who had participated in the previous negotiations with Iran, and claimed that Iran was responsible for the collapse of the talks.
Earlier, the U.S. military announced that, starting at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on April 13 (11:00 p.m. Korean time on April 13), a blockade would be imposed on all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports.
