Dong-Eui University has partnered with public institutions to promote the AI transformation of local industries and foster talent.
Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) announced on April 13, 2026, that it had signed a business agreement for "AI Specialist and AX Convergence Talent Development and Regional Industry AX Transformation" with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and Busan Technopark at the university's main building.
President Han Suhwan, Vice President for External Affairs Kim Sunghee, Ban Jeongsik, Director of Regional Innovation at the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and Kim Hyungkyun, President of Busan Technopark, attended the signing ceremony.
This agreement is a three-party cooperation model involving the university, public institutions, and regional innovation organizations, aiming to support the AI transformation of local small and medium-sized enterprises and to establish an industrial ecosystem.
The organizations will cooperate on ▲ joint operation of AI and AX practical training programs ▲ adoption of Google collaborative curricula ▲ provision of technology consulting and policy funding for local companies ▲ implementation of field-oriented industry-academia cooperation projects.
Dong-Eui University plans to nurture 750 practical AX professionals by 2030 through its 7.1 billion won "Advanced Industry Talent Bootcamp AI Project." The goal is to secure a workforce that can be immediately deployed at local industrial sites.
The focus is on cultivating customized AI talent linked to Busan's core industries such as marine mobility and advanced machinery components.
President Han Suhwan stated, "AI transformation is key to the competitiveness of local enterprises," adding, "By combining the capabilities of the university and institutions, we will serve as a hub for local industrial innovation."
Director Ban Jeongsik said, "We will accelerate the AI transformation through policy funding, export support, and talent development."
