The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on April 13 that Sewoon Jung, CEO of Hyerim Table, pledged to donate 100 million won over five years and joined as a member of the Honor Society. With this pledge, CEO Jung became the 202nd member in Gwangju and the 3,913th member nationwide.


The induction ceremony, held at the Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae Nanum Culture Center on the same day, was attended by CEO Sewoon Jung; Jegil Koo, President of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae; Sangcheol Lee, representative member of the Gwangju Honor Society; Sooni Lim, Vice President of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae; Mujin Choi, Secretary General; executive board members; Professor Woojin Lee of the Department of Neurology at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, who is CEO Jung's son; as well as family and acquaintances, all celebrating the induction of the new member.


CEO Sewoon Jung, who joined as the 202nd Honor Society member, is a businessperson who has diligently operated construction site cafeterias and has pledged to donate 100 million won through this induction, participating in the spirit of sharing.


CEO Jung is also actively involved in various social contribution and external activities, serving as a director of the Hyerim Welfare Foundation, auditor of the Hyerim Scholarship Foundation, vice chairman of the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch, and vice president of the 2026 Mudeung CEO Academy Alumni Association.


CEO Jung stated, "I decided to join with the desire to share the love I have received from the local community with neighbors in need," adding, "Thanks to the love and support of my family, who have always encouraged me, I was able to make this meaningful commitment to sharing today."


He went on to say, "Together with my family, I hope to continue practicing sharing and contribute to making Gwangju a warmer place."


President Jegil Koo expressed, "I am deeply grateful to Honor Society member Sewoon Jung for participating in sharing even amid economic downturn," and added, "The warm-hearted contributions of Honor Society members are bringing great hope to the local community."


Meanwhile, the Honor Society is a group of individual high-value donors who either donate at least 100 million won or pledge to donate this amount within five years, leading the spread of a culture of sharing in the region.
