The program aims to cultivate global cultural sensitivity by allowing students to use English as a tool for communication, rather than simply as a subject of study, focusing on various everyday topics such as culture, sports, arts, family, and food.
All participating students will be given the opportunity to serve as “K-Buddy” (Honorary Youth Diplomats of Dongducheon City). Additionally, if international students later visit Dongducheon for a K-Camp, K-Buddy students will receive priority participation as a special benefit.
Eligible applicants are students from grade 7 (first year of middle school) to grade 11 (second year of high school) who either reside in or attend school in Dongducheon City or Yangju City. The classes will be held on Fridays and Saturdays for approximately two months starting on April 18.
Those interested in participating can apply through the official website of the Dongducheon City Global Talent Education Center. The application deadline is Friday, April 17. A total of 40 students will be selected, and recruitment may close early on a first-come, first-served basis if all spots are filled before the deadline.
