NIPA and Kyonggi University Sign MOU to Foster Open Source Talent

The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) announced on April 13 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kyonggi University on April 10 to promote the open source ecosystem and foster future-oriented interdisciplinary talent.


The two organizations held a signing ceremony at Deokmun Hall at Kyonggi University, establishing a cooperative framework to expand open source-based education and technological collaboration. The agreement aims to cultivate practical talent that meets industry demand and to promote the adoption of open source technology through cooperation between public institutions and universities.

Going forward, the two organizations will cooperate in key areas of talent development, including: collaboration to introduce and expand the use of open source; fostering talent through the operation of specialized open source education programs; conducting awareness-raising activities such as seminars and academic conferences; and jointly utilizing equipment and facilities for education and research.


Kyungrok Lee, General Manager of the Software Convergence Division at the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "Through this agreement, we will establish a system for developing practical talent based on open source, and expand cooperative models that link industry and education."
