Busan Port Authority has joined forces with the world’s leading shipping company to strengthen its digital logistics competitiveness.
On April 10, Busan Port Authority (BPA, headed by President Song Sangkeun) visited the MSC Asia Regional Headquarters in Singapore to introduce Busan Port’s digital logistics platform, “Chain Portal,” and discuss strategies for its advancement, the authority announced on April 13.
This visit was organized to share the operational status of Busan Port and its digital integrated logistics platform, as well as to enhance smart port services tailored to the needs of global shipping companies.

The Transshipment Transportation System is characterized by its “group order” feature, which increases transportation efficiency by allowing multiple vehicles and containers to be dispatched simultaneously. It is currently being utilized at a rate of approximately 40%, demonstrating improvements in efficiency.
Port-i provides features such as vessel and cargo monitoring, integrated berth schedule inquiry, anomaly detection, and alert functions. BPA demonstrated practical applications for business operations through a live demonstration.
In addition, next-generation services planned for implementation this year were unveiled, including: ▲ enhanced anomaly detection for transshipment connectivity based on artificial intelligence (AI), ▲ provision of global vessel location information (AIS), and ▲ a dedicated messenger function.
The MSC representatives gave positive feedback on the Chain Portal’s AI and blockchain-based design, and proposed additional features such as transshipment connection simulation, integration of transport information between terminals, cargo connection visualization, and provision of yard information. Busan Port Authority plans to incorporate these requirements from global shipping companies into further platform improvements.
President Song Sangkeun stated, “We will continue to reflect on-site needs to further enhance Busan Port’s transshipment competitiveness.”
