Yuyu Pharma's AI-based work innovation, which began at its production plant, is not only facilitating the early establishment of smart factory operations, but is also spreading to other internal functions such as sales and marketing, research and development (R&D), and management support.
According to Yuyu Pharma on April 13, the company launched an AI work application task force team (TFT) in the production division in the second half of last year to optimize processes and implement smart factory operations. The TFT identified six key areas for improvement, including manual Excel work, document review, and human error risk. It compared and analyzed five paid AI solutions, including ChatGPT and Claude, and began applying the AI most suitable for each factory team’s work.
As a result, practical work tools were developed that are immediately applicable to tasks such as production and quality data dashboards, precise comparison of labeling materials and designs, GMP and regulatory document search and interpretation, and troubleshooting of equipment manuals. Notably, all of these processes were implemented by frontline staff from production management, quality control, and product technology teams-who lack specialized IT knowledge such as coding or programming-using AI. The IT department intervened only in areas requiring minimal technical support, such as real-time server connectivity.
Yuyu Pharma’s plant is currently optimizing its processes using the developed AI-powered work tools. By having AI handle routine and repetitive tasks, employees can focus on critical decision-making, eliminating workflow bottlenecks. AI detection of structural errors has reduced risk factors, thereby increasing quality and safety reliability. In addition, visualized dashboards are being used for data-driven decision-making, and the immediate use of AI for equipment anomalies has strengthened on-site responsiveness.
No Yong Park, CEO of Yuyu Pharma, stated, "We plan to deepen and expand the use of AI in the production sector, including automating data-linked production man-hour analysis and industrial safety risk assessments. We will also continue to identify and implement AI models tailored to the specific characteristics of our plant."
Yuyu Pharma is sharing its AI-based work innovation cases from the plant with employees in other roles such as sales and marketing, R&D, and management support. The company is also advancing its AI-driven work sophistication by introducing WorksAI, an enterprise AI solution, company-wide.
