원본보기 아이콘Dermatest is a dermatological research institute founded in Germany in 1978. Its team of experts, including dermatologists, biologists, and food chemists, rigorously tests products that come into contact with the skin to assess potential irritation and safety. Certification marks are only granted to products that meet all of the institute's strict criteria.
The models that received this certification include all Beautyrest Black products: Kelly, Deborah, Marion, Lucille, Brigitte, Lauren, and Egger.
Beautyrest Black proved to be a low-irritation product through a patch test targeting the 'atopic skin group,' which applies the strictest standards among sensitive skin types. This certification demonstrates that even those with highly sensitive skin can use the product with confidence. Unlike other common skin-related certifications, this test verifies safety through direct skin contact.
With this certification, Simmons has further strengthened its position in the premium market with its quality and technological expertise, proving its fundamental competitiveness as a specialized bedding company.
Beautyrest Black is a flagship product that represents the full capabilities of Simmons Bedding, leading the domestic ultra-high-end bed market. It features the 'Advanced Pocket Spring' with a triple-helix structure, the most sophisticated among Simmons' pocket springs, providing delicate yet refined support. The mattress responds sensitively even to minor movements during sleep and offers detailed support to the body.
Recognized for this technology, the series has achieved double-digit annual growth since its launch in 2016, reaching sales of 30 billion won just two years after its introduction in 2018. In 2023, monthly sales reached 300 units, and for the first time, monthly sales surpassed 500 units in March of this year.
A Simmons representative said, "Through this Dermatest certification, our ultra-premium mattress has once again been recognized for its differentiated safety. We will use this opportunity to create a sleep environment that consumers can trust and feel safe in, and continue to raise the standards of premium bedding."
Simmons is the only domestic bed brand to have received certifications such as radon and thoron safety certification, climate and energy environmental certification approved by the Ministry of Environment, and UL GREENGUARD Gold certification. The company has also publicly disclosed its patent for flame-retardant mattresses.
Despite difficult external conditions this year, Simmons Bedding plans to further expand its safety certifications and invest in equipment for the 'Simmons Factrium,' the largest bed factory in Korea, to improve production efficiency and enhance the working environment for its employees.
