Saudi Arabia Restores East-West Pipeline... "Transports 7 Million Barrels per Day"

The Wall Street Journal reported on April 12 (local time) that Saudi Arabia has restored operations of its key East-West oil pipeline, a major route for crude oil exports.

According to the report, the Saudi Ministry of Energy announced through social media that the East-West pipeline's operational rate has recovered, enabling the transport of approximately 7 million barrels of crude oil per day.

The East-West pipeline connects Saudi Arabia's eastern oil fields to the Red Sea coast. Since Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz, it has become an essential route for oil exports. However, following an Iranian attack, the pipeline's daily crude oil transport capacity had previously decreased by about 700,000 barrels.

The Saudi Ministry of Energy also stated that crude oil production at the Manifa oil field, which had declined by 300,000 barrels per day due to Iran's attack, was restored in a short period. The ministry further added that efforts are ongoing to fully recover production capacity at the Khurais oil field, which had also seen a reduction of 300,000 barrels per day.
